2011 Rules

IONIA IDOL RULES

Each contestant will perform two (2) solo songs, each lasting no more than five (5) minutes.  Any song that lasts longer than five (5) minutes automatically eliminates the contestant.  When selecting music, remember:

This is a PG Audience!

Contestants will be judged on:
TALENT
STAGE PRESENCE
VOCAL RANGE, and
OVERALL IMPRESSION of the judges

Each contestant will submit a videotape or DVD of the performance.  If your performance makes the first cut, the first song will be sung at the semi-finals; the second song will be sung at the finals.  NO substitutes will be allowed.
Previous Ionia Idol winners will not be allowed to enter for 2 years after being named “Ionia Idol.”
Each contestant will sing to CD accompaniment only - THAT THEY MUST PROVIDE!  No cassettes or musical instruments, please.  No a cappella singing

Applications must include:
- Completed application form;

-Videotape or DVD of the performance;
-$25.00 NON-REFUNDABLE fee:  Payable to the Ionia Free Fair

All applications MUST BE POST-MARKED NO LATER THAN JUNE 15, 2011
